Our History

The Center for Remarkable Women is a 501c(3) nonprofit organization, that empowers and equips women to live life on purpose and with purpose. Through empowerment initiatives we seek to encourage women, young girls and their families in a loving and supportive environment.

The Center is an outgrowth of the Remarkable Women Ministry which is now one of the empowerment initiatives under the Center for Remarkable Women. The visionary for the Remarkable Women Ministry is Rev. Valerie Pearson and it began as a pilot program in the New Psalmist Baptist Church in Baltimore in 2006. After successful implementation for four years the ministry moved from the church to stand on its own in order to reach more women. Using the Remarkable Women Ministry, God has transformed the lives of hundreds of women over five years. Many women from the program have gone on to write books, attain higher degrees of education and pursue small business ventures. For some, the transformation is as profound as connecting with a parent or loved one for the first time in years. Women have realized that possibilities are endless when you set out to achieve your full potential.

Through the Remarkable Women Ministry, women have touched the lives of homeless women at My Sister’s Place in Baltimore, run successful winter coat drives and organized Christmas Fellowships at senior housing developments.

The Center for Remarkable Women was birthed from the idea that not only do we want to transform the lives of women but also we desire to touch and transform the lives of young girls and senior women. With the realization of the Center, we can reach more women and impact their families. The programs that are planned will include Parenting Programs, Youth Programs and Young Adult Programs. Under the leadership of Rev. Valerie S. Pearson, The Center for Remarkable Women will be a hub for all women.
